So, I don't know where my dear, sweet child comes up with this stuff. He's a sassy little thing. I try to punish him for his little outbursts, but my discipline is muffled by my laughter, making it pretty unsuccessful.
I was out watering my garden today.....you know, Tanner on one hip, hose in the other hand (my brothers will appreciate that I truly am a redneck now). Anyway, Hunter was over playing in the dirt. I said something to him, he turns around, and I see that his face is covered in dirt. It looked like he'd face planted in it, which he hadn't. So, I confusedly ask him how he got dirt all over his face. And do you know what he says? He looks at me, all snotty-like, and says, "It doesn't matter!" I said, "What did you say?" (Because I truthfully was baffled and confused) and so he yells even louder, "It doesn't matter, Mommy!" That was three hours ago and he is still refusing to tell me how all of that dirt got on his face. Not that it matters at this point, it's been removed, but I would sure as heck like to know what the big secret is.....and where my 2 year old learned a phrase like that! Oh boy, it is definitely going to be a long, hard road.
And P.S., any time anyone drops anything or Tanner falls down or whatever, he yells out, "Uh oh, Sghettios!" I'm pretty sure he picked this up from his Daddy, but I can't escape it. If I make one wrong move, I know it's coming. "Uh oh, sghettios!" It makes it that much better that he can't properly say Spaghetti-o's.
Oh, and so as not to neglect my dear, sweet Tanner, I can't say that the things he learns are much better. I mean, the majority of the time he's just all over the house yelling, "No Way!" (which he learned from Hunter who is always scolding him). "Tanner, do you want some milk?" "No Way!" he yells while diving for the sippy cup. "Tanner, come see Mommy!" "No Way!" he yells while crawling as fast as he can. And sometimes he just mumbles it for long periods of time, like he's talking to himself. "No way, no way, no way......" If that wasn't bad enough (although unbelievably funny), yesterday he was sitting in his highchair and he could see our dog out the window. All of the sudden, he just starts yelling, "Sugie, Hi!" Her name's Sugar, but Kyle's very into babytalking and nicknaming our children and pets, so he calls her Sugies. Well, now so do my boys apparently. He just kept yelling it, "Sugie, Hi! Hi Sugie! Sugie, Sugie, Sugie!" He won't even say Mama on command (only when he's mad), but he will call our dog. Oh, sad day.

I love it! Sounds like Tanner and Lil have a lot in common. The little spit fires! Emma is going through the "no!" stage too. She answers "no!" to everything. She also gives us this really dirty look while she does it. Oh, how I can't wait for them to be teenagers!
I didn't know Tanner was saying stuff too! That is too funny.
Hunter was right, it doesn't matter. Why do you have to get so worked up over everything. You're such a mom. Sheesh.
The thing I love best, is that you TOTALLY DESERVE everything you get! HA HA HA HA SUCKA!
(When you were watering the plants, please tell me that Tanner was in just a diaper and had food or whatever on his face... oh, and you hadn't showered... and you were barefoot. Classic.)
Matt's right. If that is all that happens to Hunter you will be lucky. They have a way of getting dirt fast. He probably was tasting it to see what it tasted like. Haven't you ever heard of making mud pies? Of course you rave, remember. :)
I'm glad to hear that Tanner is talking now too. No Way doesn't sound like a fitting way to start though.
That is so fully that he still wont tell you what happened. You would think that eventually he would just give in. I am so not looking forward to those days, even thought I am sure I will be laughing most of the time. Benjamin is already so stubborn and he likes to look at me and say no. We'll see how it goes in a few years, I might be calling you for advise on how not to smack my kid in the mouth.
Too FUNNY!! It makes you wonder where the heck they come up with some of their phrases. And to think it's just the beginning of all the smart talk. You just have to laugh sometimes, which as you said, doesn't help the disciplining part of it.
Your blog always makes me smile - I love it! Hunter and Tanner are growing up WAY too fast!! I can't believe that Tanner is talking already, but he is over 1, so I should be believing it :)
