Taking Advantage of the Weather

We have had three beautiful days in a row!! We took full advantage of them and I'm glad because today is not looking nearly as promising. Sunday after Conference we changed our clothes and headed into the Tri-Cities. There are a ton of parks along that Columbia River that are connected by a walking path, so we decided to take the kids and the dog for a walk. We went probably 3 or 4 miles and it was great. The weather was perfect and we had fun. (Haylee really enjoyed it.....can't you tell by the excitement on her face?)
Monday for Family Home Evening we took the kids to Scootney to have hot dogs and roasted marshallows. We played a little bit of soccer too. Well, the boys and I did anyway. Hunter's going to be a star.....I can already tell (see the video below).

Yes, that is strawberry soda all over Tanner's face. Don't be judgemental.....he has a hard time.:)

My little soccer star, Hunter. He thinks every photo is an opportunity for a glamour shot, so you'll have to cut him some slack. He is cute though, isn't he?
Haylee, the life of the party as usual.:) To give her some credit, she was actually awake for this event, so that's something. She's such a joy to have around. What an angel of a baby she is!

Ignore the little accident at the end of the video. Just because he tripped one time, doesn't mean he's not good. As a matter of fact, a lot of soccer players hit the ground on purpose, so how do you know he didn't?
Tuesday, Kyle had to plant a bunch of fish in Dalton Lake (which is technically in Pasco, but really is so remote that it doesn't deserve an address). But, not the point. He thought the boys might like to come watch (which, of course, they would), so we went. It was almost 80 degrees, so no complaints from me. He had back his planting truck down this ridiculously steep boat launch (but see, he made it).
Anyway, he planted about 500 fish. Don't even ask me what kind because I'm what I like to call "aquatic life retarded." I have no idea. Probably trout or something. Anyhow, you can see the fish coming through the tube. There were some holes in the tube from the last time they planted catfish somewhere and so he got soaked. I didn't even laugh, I swear. So, Hunter and Tanner were in heaven. I've never seen such excitement. Tanner kept yelling about wanting to touch the fish because he got to touch some Walleye the other night that they got out of Moses Lake to spawn. Apparently it was the best moment of his life and needs to be repeated.
Okay, so as exciting as all of this is, you've yet to hear the really exciting part. Apparently Dalton Lake is a haven for illegal fishing, etc., etc., etc. (Gee, I can't imagine why since you wouldn't even expect a lake to exist in this location, but not the point). Anyway, there were undercover enforcement officers all over the place. They were waiting for Kyle to get there and plant so they could bust all of the illegal fishermen. It was so exciting to be a part of a sting operation. Dan and Amanda should be proud, since they're crime fighters too. The fish were behaving a little bit strangely because of being in that tank so long. A few of them swam right onto shore....no joke. It was weird. Kyle threw them back in, but there were already people hovering with bags, trying to get the fish. (I didn't even know people did that). There were also a bunch of people throwing their lines in right while he was planting, which I guess you're not supposed to do either. I guess this is what people do who are incapable of actually catching fish the real way. Anyway, Kyle pulled the truck up out of the lake and another fish jumped on shore. I had thoughts about throwing it back, but as we all know, I don't touch live critters of any type. Wouldn't have mattered anyway because this kid swooped in and started trying to get the fish into his plastic bag. Kyle says it's good I let him because one of the officers was watching from the bushes with binoculars (no joke.....so covert, and so cool) to bust him. Kyle asked if I said anything to the kid. Ummm, no, he wasn't speaking English. Then I realized that was a stupid thing to say because I do speak Spanish after all. Whatever.....sometimes I forget. Anyway, as I was following Kyle out of the lake, several more enforcement officers passed us heading in. One was in a hawaiian shirt which reminded me of something you'd see on those crime fighting tv shows. It was so exciting. Who knew having a husband who worked at a hatchery could bring such thrill to life!

Sounds like you really enjoyed the warm weather. You were lucky you got 80's. We only got to 70. I love Hunter's soccer playing. Looks like he will be as good as his mother. What is wrong with Tanner having a red face at least you can tell he love Strawberry Soda. Haylee is getting so big. Can hardly wait for the next 22 days so we can see you all.
