I know, I know, two posts in one night!! Impressive. And I also know you're probably all wondering why I'm posting things at 1 o'clock in the morning, but truth be told, I'm in too much pain to sleep, so.....here I am.
One of the things I love about being a Mom is the fact that I have really funny kids. Now, maybe all kids are funny at this age, I don't know, but I sure appreciate mine. Hunter talks up a storm. It seems like he always has. He comprehends a lot of things that kids his age don't and never forgets anything anybody says (which makes for good repeating later). And the things he doesn't quite fully understand, he comprehends in a really adorable way.
Story #1: I was making lemon snow bars this evening. I know I'm supposed to be off of my feet, but I had a craving, okay?! Anyway, I was cutting in the butter for the crust part of it and I was getting annoyed and said so. He looks at me (because he's always in the kitchen trying to help), rubs my arm all gentle-like and says, "Oh, are you having a hard time, sweetie?" I had to choke back my laughter. Did my 3 year-old just call me, sweetie? Yeah, I'm pretty sure he did. So then, he can tell I'm laughing at what he said and says, "Mom, you think I'm so funny, huh?" I just smiled at him. "Yes, Hunter, I do." How cute is he?
Story #2: We were on our way to church this morning. Tanner had a balloon in the car that he was playing with. Hunter wanted to play with it, but Tanner of course wouldn't share. All of the sudden he blurts out, "Let's send Tanner's balloon up in the sky so Heavenly Father can see it." WHAT?! Now, this was mostly motivated by the fact that Hunter had popped his balloon the night before and wanted poor little Tanner to suffer the same fate (Hunter has released balloons before and knows they won't come back). But it's also extremely cute that he associates Heavenly Father with the sky. Any time he sees a sunset he exclaims, "Look what Heavenly Father painted again!!" I'm pretty sure he thinks He's just floating around up there because he doesn't understand such a huge concept yet and it's adorable.
Anyway, just thought I'd share. I wish the world looked to me the way it looks to my son. In reality, maybe they see it just a little more clearly than we do.

Hunter does sound like a pretty smart kid. All his stories make me laugh, kids are pretty darn funny.
Oh my gosh, I love those kids. I'm also at peace knowing that someone is there to help you when you're frazzled, "sweetie."
