No Baby Yet.....

Well, as a lot of you know, I spent 48 hours in the hospital for "observation." We thought we'd be having our baby early, but so far, she's still in there. I got a call on Monday afternoon from the doctor telling me that I had to check into the hospital on Tuesday for a two day stay because I was spilling a lot more protein. SAY WHAT!? I don't think I've ever been more nervous. They're essentially trying to figure out what's wrong with my kidneys. Usually the problem stems from high blood pressure or gestational diabetes, but I have neither. Anyway, after all that time there, I'm apparently still a mystery. All I'm hoping now is that it's pregnancy related and not something else (which we won't know until I deliver). Anyway, I got two steroid shots (the main reason for the length of my stay.....you get them 24 hours apart) in case they had to deliver. The shots speed up the baby's lung development so that hopefully they can breathe on their own if they're premature. Anyhow, so if I should have to deliver, she should be doing pretty well (especially since I grow them so big.....ha ha). He decided not to deliver after talking to the high-risk pregnancy doctor and deciding that I had a ways to go before my kidneys actually shut down. (Sounds uplifting, doesn't it?) So, I got to come home yesterday afternoon. A big thank you to my Mom and my little sister, Katie, who drove over here Tuesday morning to stay with my boys during my hospital stay. Kyle stayed with me at the hospital at night and was at work during the day, so they got to deal with my boys (which I promise is a huge adventure!) Anyway, I wish I knew more than I do about my little condition, but alas, I don't. I have an appt. and an ultrasound Tuesday that I'm hoping will tell me something. Plus, I'm having contractions like crazy and they're getting worse, so maybe she's going to come out anyway. I'll keep you posted......

My word, you seem to be handling this well. I would be a nervous wreck. How far along are you? I can't remember. I hope they can figure it out and that your little lady can stay in there as long as possible. Good luck and I hope your appointment goes well.

It is amazing what some women have to go through to get these little ones here. Good Luck these next few weeks. Hopefully she can stay in there a little longer.

Oh wow. This has been a crazy pregnancy for you! Are you feeling okay really? I know I keep saying that I am going to call you, but on Monday, when I'm at my Mom's house, I'm really going to!! PROMISE!

You poor thing! All I can say is that at least you've made it to 34 weeks! That's great! They gave me one steroid shot (which hurt by the way) and they took Carter by C-Section one hour later, so I don't think they helped much! :) At least yours will take effect! Good luck with everything and keep us posted on what happens. Your baby will be just fine even if she was delivered today!

It sounds like Haylee doesn't care for the steroid shots and has decided she may want to come now before they do anything else crazy for her. Hang in there girl, you both are going to be fine and I here Hunter was upset because you were in the hospital and didn't bring Haylee home with you. Outside I mean.
