Okay, actually I know where they get it, but I'm just surprised they pick it up so young. These boys repeat everything they hear.....and they're pretty good about keeping it in the correct context too.
Tanner has started talking a lot more just in the past few weeks. Every time he drops something, or falls, or has his trailer come unhitched from his tractor, he yells out, "Dang!" The first time I heard it I was sure I must be hearing him wrong, but no......he says the word, "dang" all day long. I can honestly say he gets this one from Hunter, but Hunter got it from me so either way, I'm to blame. It just doesn't sound right coming out of his innocent, little mouth, but I guess that's what I get. He's also obsessed with Christmas lights. Every time he sees them he yells out, "Lights! Whoa!" (which actually sounds like, "Ights! Whoa!" because he doesn't say L's for some reason). Then, when they're no longer in sight, he lets out this shrill squeal until he sees another house with them on. So, please, for my sake, if you have outside lights up, please turn them on.....EVERY DAY!! There's already enough farmland between houses out here to give me a headache, so I could use all the help I can get.
Hunter talks like he's in the fifth grade. This can be very entertaining and usually is. We've finally been getting snow like the rest of the state. It snowed the entire time we were at church this morning, so by the time we got home, we had quite a bit. Anyone who's ever talked to Hunter knows he has one of those battery powered, ride-on pick-up trucks that we got from Kyle's sister. Her boy outgrew it and so they gave it to us. Well, it had sat for awhile in storage and so the battery is dead. We tried to order a new one, but they're out of stock everywhere for whatever reason. Anyway, he tells everyone about his dead battery in his pick-up, which stays parked out front where he can "see it" at all times. Anyway.....blah, blah, blah......so we pull in after church and his pick-up is covered in snow. None of us think anything of this of course, but Hunter yells out (and he's mad too), "Good grief! Would you look at all that snow on my pick-up!" (Okay, it was more like, "Good brief!" but you get the idea). Kyle just looked at me and asked if our three year old just said, "Good grief!" Ummm, yep. And he totally got this one from me too, by the way. It looks like I'm the guilty culprit all around these days.
Anyway, we are forever entertained by our boys. They make life fun.

Good grief Charlie Brown! It's Christmas! Dang!!
Tanner can come see my Christmas lights anytime...chances are I'll forget to turn them off anyway!
oh my gosh, that's so cute! My sister's youngest, Anika, would say "Darn It!" all the time when she was first learning phrases and it was SO cute!
Good brief you lead an exciting life. I would love to witness all your families stories. My life is so boring compared to all you excitement:)
