Our Own Little Swiss Miss

So, this was a wildly busy, but fantastic weekend. My little sister, Kim, came home Friday night from her mission to Switzerland. Every single one of my siblings and their families made it to greet her at the airport. It doesn't often happen that we're all together any more, so that was great. I don't exactly have any airport pictures here to post because my sisters (not to mention any names, but Emily and Katie) never promptly send me pictures even when they promise, so I don't have them. (I don't know why they insist on doing this.....they know I'll just flood their emails with pictures of David Hasselhoff from his Baywatch days. Maybe they secretly like being tortured. Or even worse.....maybe they secretly have crushes on David Hasselhoff. Weird.) Anyway, she looked great! And she could even still speak English, which I find impressive.

She had kind of a late flight, so beforehand we all met at my Aunt and Uncle's house.....cousins included. I know many of my readers may find this shocking, but I only have two first cousins.....so, all present and accounted for! It was a blast. I'm proud to say that there's not a soul in my family who doesn't sport a witty sense of humor, so if you can imagine 27 loud talking people in one room, all saying funny stuff, well, then you can appropriately visualize this event. If your imagination isn't that helpful, then I'm sorry to say you're missing out. It's like the dinner scene on "While You Were Sleeping," only with more people. There was even a broken arm and a broken leg in the mix, so you know it's bound to be a good time.

Saturday, was my little sister Katie's Birthday (Happy Birthday again Katie!). I also don't seem to have any pictures of this event. Well, I have one, but Katie would disown me if I posted it on the internet, so I just won't. My Mom had also scheduled us to have a huge family picture done. This would have been fine, except they were outdoor pictures AND it was pouring down rain. I suppose we shouldn't have all been as shocked and annoyed as we were, seeing as Western Washington typically gets, oh I don't know, 556+ days of rain each year, but annoying nonetheless. I don't have these yet. My Mom gets them this week, I think. Anyway, forewarning for when the pics are posted: Walker girls' hair and rain.....they just don't mix. So, just wipe any thought out of your mind about the frizziness of our hair as quickly as it comes in. We actually had combed it, you just can't tell is all.
We got to go Sunday morning when Kim reported her mission to the High Council. She's so impressive. Well, she always has been, but now she's impressive in English and German. Anyway, seriously, she did an amazing job on her mission and we're really proud of her. Glad we could be there for that, Kim!! Oh, and I'm also happy to report that she's still funny. You know how some missionaries' senses of humor are completely destroyed? Well, not Kim. She's still a 10+ on the funny scale. What a relief!:) Okay, well, here are some pics of the weekend.....even if they have absolutely nothing to do with what I posted.
My sister-in-law, Sarah holding her daughter Kennady, my sister Kim, me holding Haylee, my sister Wendy holding her son Evan, my sister Katie, and my sister Emily. Emily is front and center, not because there was no room on the couch, but simply because she's a total attention hog. Do you notice how she tried to block me out?

Some of my siblings playing Rock Band or whatever that game is (I'm not a video game person, so don't judge). I'm pretty sure this is the best picture of Matt ever taken by anyone.....which I'm feeling pretty proud of. Anyway, it's my brother Matt, my brother Joey, Hunter, Emily, and Kim.

My two Grandmas playing Boggle. This is a classic shot. If you've ever seen Ultimate Fighting, this is like the UFC.....only with words.Uncle Matt and Tanner.
Uncle Dan and Haylee (I love this picture).
Aunt Emily with Tanner. And YES, he's passed out. This just proves it IS possible for him to stop moving. My pretty, smiley Haylee.

David, Wendy, and Evan. This was the first time I got to see Evan and he's SO CUTE!! He also told me I was his favorite Aunt, which I think is sweet since we'd only met just then. The best picture of Kennady and Hunter I've ever seen. Her look summarizes her entire personality, trust me.

That is totally Kennady's personality! Kennady, Hunter & Tanner play so cute together. I wonder how much longer that will last... =] How is Hunter doing with his new cast?

I wish I could've been in that room with 27 people with the same wit as you. I may have died laughing! No, that's almost a sure thing! Now, 27 people like Kyle and I may have died as well...from being shot or inundated with camo, elk calls, and/or hunting videos. ;)

Oh, P.S. Congratulations on your mission Kim!

Welcome back Kim! I'm sure your mission was the best ever (they always are!) and you're having a total love/hate relationship with being home right now, but don't worry, it'll pass in time.

I'm with Elder Ridinger...er Jon...would have loved to be there too!!

SO I realize I'm way behind in looking at blogs, but the close-up of Haylee in this post looks a whole lot like a feminine version of Matthew. Which really is crazy when you think of how distantly they are related... 3rd cousins? Who looks like their 3rd cousin? I'll have to post a recent picture on my blog and you tell me what you think.
