Anyway, all in all, the boys had a great time and are going to be on a sugar high for the next, oh, year or so. I probably will be to unless my glucose test comes back saying I have some sort of sugar problem with this pregnancy, which let's just face the facts, would suck. I've never had one with my previous pregnancies, but my doctor's convinced that there has to be a reason I get so big. Heh heh. Yeah, I wish. But anyway, we'll see...... Happy Halloween everyone!

Pick-R-Pete!
This is how Hunter says Trick-or-Treat. It's cute every time.

We started out by attending our community Trunk-or-Treat out here in Basin City. There were probably close to 75 kids there, which made it fun. Hunter acted slightly horrified at first, but he quickly got the hang of it and was delighted to see so many suckers flying into his bag. Tanner loves suckers too, but he entirely doesn't grasp the concept of Trick-or-Treating. We went to Connell afterwards and met up with Aricka and Tailor so the boys could go Trick-or-Treating with him. It was a riot. Between every house, Hunter would hold my hand and say, "Don't let any cars run me over, Mom!" This probably stems from the fact that I gave him a big lecture on how dangerous it was to run out in front of cars and what bad "owies" he could get if he did after he darted out in the Post Office parking lot the other day. At least my warning worked, but Hunter dramatizes everything, which I should remember. Ah well, live and learn. Tanner was a hit. At every door, he would just grunt of course, trying to shove his way past Hunter and Tailor who were always in front of him. When the people would hand him candy (his pumpkin was too heavy for him to even to hold up......good, just what I need, about 50 lbs. of candy per child), he would grab something out of his pumpkin to give them in exchange. It was so funny. If they gave him a sucker, instantly to the mouth, wrapper and all. "What a cute elephant!" they'd say and he'd just beam them his cheesy grin and nearly roll off the porch. His chubby, little costume made my chubby, little boy move quite awkwardly. Anyway, when we'd take the sucker away, screaming hysterics were always the result, but he'd be over it by the next door.

We only had one traumatizing mishap for our little Hunter. I was nervous about having him go Trick-or-Treating because he's so anxious anyway. Well, they walked up to this one door. It was pretty heavily decorated with red lights and lots of scary decorations. We were right behind, but I wasn't close enough. There was a young teenager dressed in a ghillie suit (for those of you who don't know what that is, it's the same camo suits that Daddy wears to go hunting.....with the strips of fabric that pretty much make you look like a swamp man). Anyway, he had on a scary mask and was curled up in the flower bed. I saw him, but thought it was fake. He jumped out and grabbed Tailor's leg with Hunter in tow and my little boy came unglued. He was hysterical. He wouldn't let go of my hand after that. "I hate that house, Mom! Don't let anyone scare me!" was the comment I would get about every 45 seconds after that. My poor baby. He'll probably have nightmares for a year. I have no problem with people scaring older kids, but come on, leave the toddlers alone. I'm trying to give the little punk the benefit of the doubt by assuming he didn't see Hunter, but I'm pretty sure he did since he was laughing when Hunter started crying. He probably thought he was safe since the kid he made cry had a mother who was just waddling around, but little does he know I had the urge to demolish him and probably would have if I wasn't so concerned about my little guy. Aricka was ticked too. Kyle on the other hand will read this and say, "Oh whatever! I would've done that! It was so funny!" That's the difference between Moms and Dads, I guess.:)
Here's Kyle handing out the candy at the Trunk-or-Treat. Isn't he cute?.....even if he does wear camo hats.:) There are never any pictures of me because I'm always behind the camera, but at this point, that's probably better.

HAHAHA...yeah I can see Kyle saying that about the kid jumping out from behind the bushes...wouldn't surprise me to find out he did it too!
Great pictures as always! And I agree with you...little kids don't really understand the concept of being scared like that for fun.
