Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons was a riot this year again. It was Hunter and Tanner’s third year and Haylee’s first. Haylee is fearless which ends up causing me major anxiety because she has no concept of what will happen if she jumps in the pool when no one is watching. But, it also causes her to do everything she’s asked, so she moved along nicely. Hunter did pretty well too. He was actually learning to dive and they even introduced him to the crawl stroke. He still gets nervous, but he’s improving a lot. Tanner . . . well . . . he’s Tanner. You’d think he’d never been in water a day in his life. I can’t help but smile as I watch his incredible intensity. Everything is the end of the world or the best moment of his life. And the kid’s strong as an ox . . . literally . . . so he almost overdoes any physical task (i.e. swimming). He clings to the kickboard for dear life and shoves it under water instead of letting it float him along. He runs full speed to jump in the pool and then stops dead before he actually does it. He’s just Tanner. I’m sure he’ll learn to swim some time.:) I love watching these sweet little kiddos of mine as they learn new things. I even enjoy watching the way that they learn.
