And It’s Begun…

I love the summer months. How could you not? I mean, I don’t tolerate insane amounts of heat as well as I used to, but I still love it. And I love that my kids don’t have school or other places to be. At least not while they’re this young. And we just get to hang out. We get to read, play, and just have a good time. There seems to be more time for all that is good about life in the summer. I don’t know if that’s true, but it definitely seems that way.

I got the kids a slip ‘n’ slide this year. Let me just say that they make them nothing like they did when I was kid. Cheapskates. Anyway, they’re way shorter and way more cheaply built. But on the plus side, they actually have water that shoots out the entire length and end to keep it wet. When I was a kid you aimed a sprinkler at it and hoped it didn’t get dry . . .

IMG_8362 IMG_8375 Haylee does things her own way . . . always.

IMG_8377 And we did Silverwood early this year. Kyle was working, but we were able to go with my sister, Wendy, and her family. Three adults, six kids . . . almost no problem at all.:D I mean, besides the time we lost Haylee. No worries, she just went and got in line at the helicopters and was already riding the ride when I finally saw those blonde pigtails and knew she was safe (not safe from my wrath, but physically safe, nonetheless). I’ve never given much of a “stranger danger” lecture to my country bumpkin children, but she got one that afternoon. And she cried. Which I felt bad about. But hey, she never ran off again. Success.

IMG_8511 IMG_8504 IMG_8560 IMG_8510 The helicopters are Tanner’s favorite ride. Well, they were until he found the frog hopper and the giant swing.

IMG_8554 IMG_8559 IMG_8556 So grateful for Uncle David’s existence because this mom can no longer handle the Scrambler or the Tilt-A-Whirl.

IMG_8497 Who doesn’t love Bumper Boats? Moms who get nailed by their 6 year old sons from the sidelines, that’s who.:)

IMG_8527 IMG_0371 We attempted to teach the children how to appropriately ride a rollercoaster. We even went over the screaming. Haylee completely grasped every concept in its entirety. She screamed non-stop . . . even on the flat stretches. Bwahaha! Sometimes I’m so proud of myself. And I’m proud of David for capturing this gem on my camera.

IMG_8547 GREAT photo with my kids for once! Too bad Hunter was off riding a man ride with David.

Isn’t my sister pretty? Yeah, I know. Plus, not being a brace-face totally helps her cause.:)IMG_8535 Cute cousins. Anna and Haylee (both equally crazy, just at different stages of the game).:)

IMG_8531 Hunter and then Kyle trying to capture me and little miss Avery. Not bad.:) And isn’t she GORGEOUS!? Just saying.

My little chub-o-saurus finally loving bath time.

IMG_8934 In fact, she’s so chubby that I had to start her on rice cereal yesterday (her 3 month Birthday). She actually slept for 5 hours with that and nursing combined. I can’t even tell you how thrilled I am about this. She’s been nursing every hour and a half during the day and every three at night. I am one tired mama.

Maddox still wakes up every 3-4 hours at night with formula & solid food. He eats all the time I swear.

Cute pictures! The kids are getting so big!

Avery looks so much like you as a baby! I can't wait to meet her!

My kids also love playing in water - we frequent the local water parks!

WOW! That's a hungry baby! Nursing every 1.5 hours during the day is crazy! Cereal was a good idea! :)
