Everybody Loves Water Balloons . . .

. . . just not as much as my kids. They’re obsessed. And I’m serious. I don’t know what it is, but I have to hide bags of them like they’re candy or they’ll disappear in 10 minutes flat . . . and then someone has to clean up my lawn (preferably not me). I gave in, however, and we had a water balloon play day. Maybe because we were at my parents’ house. I mean, it’s not my lawn. Just kidding, Mom. Or maybe it was because my little sister was there and I had some urge to demolish her. Not that the water balloons were even breaking on contact, so all plans were thwarted anyway. Sad day. But we had fun anyway.:)

Water balloon volleyball was kind of lost on the kids. Every time we’d go to launch it, they’d just let go. Never got very far with that game.:)

The water balloon toss was understood, but unsuccessful. Well, maybe it was just unsuccessful for me because I was partners with Haylee.:) Watching one break right on her neck because she missed the catch WAS successful, however. Actually, it’s funny every time I think about it. Plus, we were never really out because she’d just go get us a new balloon every time she broke it.:D

Then we used the rest for a water fight. This is when we discovered that they weren’t really breaking on contact. I mean, my Dad artfully nailed Katie right in the head and it just bounced off. Not what he was going for at all! We all remained relatively dry, but it was fun anyway.

Do you know why Katie gets nailed in the head. Because she’s a cheater. See this? Two hands, three balloons. And I know what you’re thinking. “Hey Bri, in that photo up above YOU have 3 water balloons in your hand!” I have an explanation. I have 3 kids. Well, technically 4, but Avery didn’t want to play for some strange reason. I had to have ammo for each child. Ask Katie how many kids she has. On a serious note, doesn’t she kind of look like me in this photo?
