I’ve been so busy lately with school and my photography business and what not that I haven’t been keeping up on my family blog. Hence the sigh. What kind of mother am I anyway!? Okay, so this is just going to be a bunch of pictures from the month of May…..no big, detailed stories…..sorry.
My boys. We went for a walk along the Columbia River on Mother’s Day. Aren’t they handsome!? (I know the answer is yes, so you don’t really have to say anything about it).
Haylee’s favorite swings at Howard Amon Park. Also on Mother’s Day.
Aunt Emily came to visit for a few days before she left on her African safari, so here she is teaching Haylee to throw rocks at Windust State Park. Just for that, she won’t be getting any packages from me while she’s off hunting elephants.
Isn’t my Grandma the cutest? I took Emily home and went to visit for a couple days since I had some photo shoots to do over that direction anyway. One afternoon we went up to Renton to visit my Granny. It was fun, as always. I love my Grandma. So does Haylee. She can’t get enough of her (I secretly believe it’s because my Grandma encourages her sassiness, but she will deny this).:)
And look, Emily even figured out how to use my camera so there’s actually a picture of me on my blog. She’d better keep practicing. There’s nothing more worthless than a person on a safari that can’t appropriately take pictures of the wildlife and dynamic scenery. She’ll probably be one of those nerds who wears nylons and a skirt while being chased by a wild giraffe. I can even see her going as far as to wear a name tag. You just watch and see…..
I LOVE this picture of Tanner. While over there I was also shooting pictures at a friend’s son’s baseball game. The boys love watching baseball.:)
Anyway, we’ve been keeping pretty busy. I’m knee-deep in school, but finals will be in 2 weeks and then I’m off for the summer. Yay! I’m so sick of math I could puke. I’ve started my professional photography course, as well, and so I’ll have a lot more time to work on that during the summer. As I’ve been promoting BriAnne Huwe Photography, I’ve had the opportunity to take photos for a lot of people (with more scheduled this coming week) and it’s absolutely been a blast! I’ve gotten all sorts of practice and good experience. And the more I do it, the more I love it. I don’t know, there’s something about capturing moments that you can’t get back that I absolutely love. And nothing thrills me more than editing photos after a shoot and realizing that I caught a child’s personality perfectly. It doesn’t always happen yet, but when it does, it’s amazing. I can’t figure out why it took me this long to realize this is what I want to do. And it’s totally a family-friendly situation for me, which is also a must. So, things are moving along. Kyle’s been working a lot, of course. I survived turkey hunting season, but now we’ve moved on to coyote hunting. I’m pretty sure that something is in season all year, even though he denies this.:) The kids are their usual selves…..sports-obsessed, outdoor loving, sharp as tacks children that they are. Haylee is now practically running all over the place….which is really funny to watch when she’s wearing her new pink flip-flops. So cute. The boys are loving her and loving the sunshine that’s coming our way. They’re part animal and were really meant to live outside. So that’s probably what we’ll be doing…..living outside…..that is, if this newfound rain would move along its merry way. Hope all is well with all of you too!

Aw! I love the pics with Granny D.! Is she just great, or what?! Plus that one of Tanner rules. It's like he's in a gang. :) Love you!
Hey Bri don't blame me for Haylee's sassiness. she takes after her mother. I also love Tanny's picture. He is so intent on watching the ballgame. Thanks Kim I love you both.
Your photos are awesome. Of course it helps that your children are dashing! (i'm aware no one since the 1800's, other than the UK, uses that word but i'm makin it a regular part of my vocabulary... starting now.)
Let us know the next time you are on the westside as we would love to meet up with you and whomever you get to drag along with you for the trip! My father in law confirmed that there are periods without hunting but very few.
