Saturday was Tanner’s Birthday. My little guy is now three! That’s hard to believe. Time flies by so fast. I still haven’t taken him to his well-check (I know, what kind of Mother am I!?), so I don’t have stats yet. He’s short and stalky and I imagine that’s what they’ll tell me.:) Tanner is all boy. He’s very content to play by himself and nothing frightens him at all unfortunately (except heights). He LOVES Cars (from the movie), monster trucks, and tractors. His favorite place to be is barefoot in his sandbox or playing in the water….especially when he’s been repeatedly told to leave the hose alone. He also loves riding his bike and jumping on the trampoline (although he “hates getting shocked” so someone always has to get him down). He’s finally learning to drive his Jeep, so Hunter has to share which goes over really well. He loves to sing, which he didn’t get from either of his parents, so I’m impressed. Well, I shouldn’t say I don’t like to sing, I just can’t. Maybe hearing me sing in the car has been so damaging that he feels inspired to reach new heights. He sings “I Am A Child of God” and “The ABC Song” all the time. They’re his favorites. They rank right up there with throwing rocks in the river. I can’t believe I almost left that out. Tanner could throw rocks into the water all day. He throws big ones and little ones and just enjoys watching them splash, I think. And even though he’s a brut of a boy, he has a really good heart. He loves to “puddle” (cuddle) with Mommy and kiss his little sister. He loves to give hugs and doesn’t really understand that hugs and body slams are different. He’s so squinty-eyed and smiley all of the time and I just love him. He probably keeps me on my toes more than my other two combined, but I wouldn’t have him any other way. He’s my darling Tanner.
For his birthday party we some of our friends over for a little hot dog roast and party. Tanner was loaded up with sugar, monster trucks, cars, and tractors, so he was a happy guy. Plus, I’m pretty sure he ate like 6 cupcakes. The two families that came over have kids pretty much exactly the same age as our kids, so between the three families it was a blast. The kids had so much fun driving the Jeep, blowing bubbles, and just running around. They got to see the fish at the hatchery and had an all around good time. The adults had a lot of fun too, so that was a bonus.:)
Hunter, Kali, Tanner, and Shaden…dragging each other around the yard with the jeep. Shaden actually popped a wheelie, but I totally didn’t have my camera out yet. It was funny.
Krew……he’s so handsome.
Shaddix…..he’s a looker too, isn’t he!?
Haylee found the barbecue chips and pretty much polished off the entire bag.:)
Hunter had a TON of fun stealing Tanner’s bubbles that he got from Aricka and David.
Shaddix, Leisl, and Luke walking to see the fish. I love this picture. It turned out much better than anticipated.:)
The three musketeers. Shaden, Kali, and Hunter…..pushing the stroller.
Kyle showing everyone the Spring Chinook in the trap. Those things are huge! (Shanae, Kali, Shaden, Luke, Leisl, Aaron w/Krew, Kyle, and Tanner. Hunter and Shaddix are hiding there somewhere.)
