The Blues

Mountains, that is. A couple of days before Mudfest we went and spent a day up in the mountains. We hiked around and drove around up there all day. Saw a bunch of animals. Came out with a bunch of ticks. All around good time. Okay, for the record, I hate ticks…..with a creepy, crawly sort of passion. Found one on the back of Tanner’s head, on Hunter’s sweatshirt, and in my hairline (ready to bury it’s nasty little head in my scalp, I’m sure). Horrible part is, we get home and check everyone and it’s all good. THEN, we went to Mudfest. We put Tanner in the same sweatshirt he’d worn in the mountains because it was still in the Durango. Must have been one in the hood because we sit down and I see something on his scalp. I thought he had a scab and had hit his head once again and just not told me (that wouldn’t have been a big shock or anything). I pull his hair back and see it’s a tick and nearly have heart failure. It was burrowing in. Kyle pulled it out and managed not leave any parts inside my poor baby’s head. Tanner said it hurt when Kyle yanked it out, but didn’t say a word at the time (not a shocker either). Anyway, I was completely disgusted and itchy for like a week. I hate all bugs, but ESPECIALLY ticks…..and spiders. Anyway, that was a tangent. The trip to the mountains was fun, ticks aside. And hmmm, mountains and Mudfest in one weekend. You can tell Kyle planned it. I’d say it’s only fair that I get a turn. Let’s see…..Hawaii, a family scrapbooking event, and a jacuzzi tub and good novel. Sounds good to me, but I have a feeling I’d be flying solo…..and would that really be so bad?:)

No pictures of Haylee or I. She was snot-nosed and grumpy and it’s quite possible I would get killed in her teenage years if I posted the one picture I took. And me, well, I’m always behind the camera, so…..I guess I should make Kyle take a picture of me once in awhile.:)

Yeah, ticks. Can't handle that. I had to get one off the dog right after we got her and I swear I had the heebie-jeebies for two weeks.

Sounds like good boy adventures, and it really wouldn't be bad to get that weekend to yourself. In fact, I think you should plan it!

Got your message. Would you mind sending those dates again?
