Happy Easter 2010

IMG_0874

Obviously my kids love cooperating for photos. Hunter’s a dream when it comes to taking pictures, but the other two…not so much. But we had a Happy Easter anyway.

IMG_0785IMG_0802Monster trucks and a ball popper. Hunter informed us this morning, “Man, the Easter Bunny sure knows what I like! I just love him!” Parents get no glory whatsoever.:) All of the kids were so excited.

We also had to wait to do our Easter Egg Hunt until today after General Conference because it was much too windy yesterday. You’d think threats of skipping it would have motivated my kids to behave during church, but it totally didn’t. Luckily, we were one of three families actually at the church watching Conference, so I wasn’t half as mortified as I would’ve been. My kids have literally NEVER been so awful during church. Tanner was a terror. He hit me, kicked me, was trying to climb over the bench and under the bench, would purposely scream during the prayers, and to top it off, head-butted me in the face and shoved my tooth into my lip. Bleeding, swelling, and the whole works. I almost got up and left right in the middle. But, somewhere deep down I’m hoping that my children will learn how important it is to be there…regardless of head-butting or anything else.

Once Kyle got home from the hatchery we did our Easter Egg Hunt. The kids were so fun this year. Talk about excitement! Haylee just loved crawling all over the yard, grabbing eggs and then throwing them. Which was actually good because Tanner broke his basket and ended up having to use Haylee’s. The purple and the frills were really not his style, but he won’t be mad at me for it until he’s at least twelve, so all is well. Life with kids is so much fun. Especially at holidays. They love everything. And that’s how life should be. I’m grateful for my children. I love my children. And even more, I’m grateful for the reason we celebrate Easter. I’m grateful for the Savior of the World…for His sacrifice on our behalf, but more importantly for the fact that He rose. He is risen. What marvelous implications that holds for all mankind.

Kids are so much fun when it comes to holidays. They make you realize how fun all the simple things in life are - the things you take for granted. Haylee is so darn cute!

Why are your children so adorable? It's really unnatural that they ALL are so good looking. Cute pictures...can't wait until you take some of Evan! Love your guts!
