Mia Bella Candles

Okay, so, I've been toying with the idea of being a distributor for this candle company for about four months now. I'm not a big salesperson.....actually, let me rephrase that.....I'm not a salesperson at all. Can't stand the pressure, so I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it. Well, after getting a lot of my questions answered, I discovered this company is great and I can pretty much do whatever I want. So, not only do I get my candles cheaper, I can make a little extra money on the side without having to hound anyone, throw any parties, or sponsor any fundraisers if I don't want to. Insert big sigh of relief here.

So, there it is. There's a link to my website in the right column. Feel free to shop if you want, but don't feel like you're obligated because you read my blog. You're not. They sell a lot of natural stuff. The candles are vegetable wax (instead of paraffin wax) so they burn pretty clean and evenly (no extra wax clinging to the side of the jar for dear life, forcing you to throw the dumb thing away).....and they're the best smelling things ever (they practically spread through the whole house just from opening the lid).....and they have a million scents (okay, not quite a million, but trust me, there are a lot). They also sell soy bar soaps, lotions, and foaming hand soap, along with car fresheners, "bakery" items (pie and cinnamon roll candles), and the candle melts and simmer pots. Anyway, pretty cool stuff, so I'm now a businesswoman. I may be one who works in her pajamas, but still, it's something. And if I suck at it, well, none of you will ever know, so I'll pretty much look like an entrepreneur anyway. Insert evil laugh here.

It sounds like you've been to the "Matt School of Sales." I'm a total anti-pressure sales person for one reason - I hate it myself! Who wants some jerk trying to push you into buying crap you don't want or need?

You can seriously talk to someone for 5 minutes and figure out what they need, what they can afford, and if you can provide that. I always get return customers because: #1 I'm not afraid to tell someone NOT to buy something (especially if I know something won't work for them or if I think it's just a crappy product), #2 I'm willing to put in a little bit of extra effort to find what they need, and #3 I'm socially retarded and good for a laugh.

I'm sure you'll be fantastic... As long as you can remember to not be as rude to your customers as you generally are to your relatives.

Good luck.

Okay, so I have kind of, sort of, but not really considered selling Tupperware. Why the uncertainty? Because I feel the exact same way! I don't really need the extra money, though it would be nice, and I don't want people to feel pressured to do something that they really don't want to, just so I can benefit! I just want cheap Tupperware! What is a girl to do?
