Kyle and I planted our first garden.....EVER. It was quite the adventure, but we think it turned out pretty well. We're not positive that anything will actually grow it in, but it looks good right now. Hunter of course helped by using his Little Tikes shovel and launching dirt into everyone's faces. But, our good little helper did manage to get the majority of the weeds into his trusty wagon (which he pretty much stole when we moved in.....it was in the shop and he's in love with it, thinks it's his, and drags it all over our yard almost daily), so that was good. Tanner watched from the shade in his playpen (yelling the whole time about the injustices of being a baby).
Once we got the garden in and started watering it, both boys thought that playing in the muddy water was the best idea ever. Tanner tried to dive right out of my arms into the garden as a matter of fact, so we decided maybe it was a good day to try our first run with the sprinkler. Tanner looked shocked the first time he and Mommy got nailed with water, but then seemed to love it (until he got cold). Now if he'd only walk I could've spared myself. Hunter is another story altogether. Hunter is our hesitant, nervous one so he stood by the front door, nearly plastered to the wall of the house (where he was safe from the blast of the water) and sobbed uncontrollably. It was hard not to laugh at his torment, but we managed and got him through the whole ordeal. We actually had to take turns carrying him as WE ran through the sprinkler and eventually he was satisfied with us just holding his hand. Oh boy! Summer should be exciting.
Sunday after church we took a drive through the Blue Mountains and then went to Walla Walla to visit Kyle's Grandma Huwe. Hunter (well, and Tanner too, although he won't remember) got to see his first elk and deer up close. Oh that was the thrill! He's exactly like his Daddy! He wouldn't stop talking about the elk for at least an hour. Kyle's just as bad. He's the one insisting that I post pictures of the elk on our blog. What boys!
Anyway, that was pretty much it. We just had a good weekend with our boys. Oh, and Tanner tried his first curly fries. That was probably his highlight since he loves to eat more than anything else.:)

Your boys are so cute! I love the Elk story too....I can just hear Kyle going on and on about it! Also, I cannot believe how green your grass is there! Our flowers are just FINALLY starting to bloom here....
Good luck w/ the garden. We've never done a full on garden before. I'm sure yours will turn out just great!
Congratulations on your first garden. I'm saddened that Joey & I can't plant a garden at our apartment. Joey always says that Veronica would probably run over it b/c she parks so bad. Tanner is getting so big so fast!
Great pictures! You had a busy weekend! I hope that your garden works better than our attempt at one last year! :) The boys are so incredibly cute! Oh, and I can't believe (and am SO jealous) at how green your grass is!! Ours is just starting to have flecks of green in it. The dump of snow we got in the last couple of weeks has finally melted and the grass was suddenly greener when that all disappeared! And our those tulips for real? Oh man! I can't wait for spring to REALLY arrive and for summer to come to Calgary!
*are, not our :P
I'll bet that the elk were the highlight if Kyle's weekend. He is sure getting Hunter trained right. Whebn is he going to take him fishing? Come on lets be honest here. I bet you enjoyed running through the sprinkler. You always did. :-)
