My little sister, Wendy, got married this Friday to David Holbrook in the Jordan River Temple. So, we've been in Utah for a week. What the adventure!

The weather started out nice. As a matter of fact, Kyle and I went hiking on Monday and it was warm enough that I got sunburned. (Kyle didn't, but he works outside every day, so whatever). Anyway, the hike we wanted to go on was still closed due to snow, but we accidentally found a trail by the old temple quarry where they cut the granite for the Salt Lake Temple. It was a nice hike, not too strenuous (except our wheezing due to the altitude), and actually ended up including a stream and a little pond area in it. We saw a lot of the leftover granite, chisel marks and all, so that was cool. However......
The next day it started snowing like crazy. It went from sunburn to below freezing in less than 12 hours. Apparently that's normal in the valley, but I find it annoyingly crazy. Two days of that and back to sunshine in time for the wedding, which was good. It was really windy on Wendy and David's wedding day, but at least the sun was out.

Their wedding was beautiful! They had one of the best sealers that I've heard speak. He did an excellent job. And when Wendy went through the Salt Lake Temple for her endowments the Wednesday before, her matron was amazing too (come to find out later, she was President Hinckley's daughter, so that explains that)! It was all really wonderful and we're excited for she and David. The only bummer was that her twin sister wasn't there. Kim's on a mission in Switzerland and won't be back for another year, so they didn't want to wait that long.

While down there, Hunter got to experience his first attempts at miniature golf and bowling. It was pretty darn amusing. His putter was too long (even though it was the smallest they had) and he ended up pushing his ball around like he was using a push broom. Sometimes he'd get tired of it and just go throw his ball at the hole, which actually sped up the game so we can't complain.:) He's actually a good little bowler. He had a 6 pound ball and would do everything himself. And we only saw him drop it (almost on his toes) twice. Anyway, he's a ham and just enjoys doing everything. It's fun having him around. Tanner enjoyed watching anything Hunter did. It actually looked like he wanted to join in (not that that motivated him to start walking at all.....he still has no interest).

Between the wedding and reception we actually had quite a bit of time and so we went bowling again. This picture is posted for you, Amanda.:) We were in our wedding clothes, but went anyway. I must say, we looked pretty good in our skirts and bowling shoes. Even the kid with the mohawk was staring at us (that can't be good).:) Anyway, Amanda (my sister-in-law) didn't have socks, so she bought a pair of pink polka dotted ones next door so she could bowl and I must say, I was pretty jealous of her end result.:)
We should have been home Saturday night, but got stuck in blizzard #2 and ended up staying in a slightly disgusting motel in Deer Lodge, Montana. That's as far as we could get. We planned on visiting Alan and Diane up in Kalispell on our way home, but since we didn't get home until yesterday evening, plans changed. I'm sick of snow.
Okay, this is pretty long, but all in all we had a really good time. Wendy married a really nice guy and we're glad to have him in the family. And he seems to get our family's strange senses of humor, which is a bonus for him. Anyway, it's good to be home.....finally.

Loved the family picture with Kim. It make it seem like she was really there with us. Great blog and Hunter is a good little bowler.

That stinks that you weren't able to stop by and visit us - that would have been a lot of fun. This crazy weather! I'm glad you had fun at your sister's wedding. I can't believe how much your sister Kim looks like you. Your family is definitely growing! By the way, I like your new background.
O.K. my blog isn't cute at all. I really have no idea what I'm doing. I did get my background from the website: cutestblogontheblock.blogspot.com
It's pretty easy to do--it explains pretty well. When you post pictures how do you get the pictures side-by-side?? How fun to get away for awhile and to be with family. Loved the bowling outfits by-the-way!! Cute family you have. Jennifer

Looks great! Tell Kyle blogging is our thing and it's o.k. if it's girlie. Glad he got a good laugh at Brian's post of the obese guy. Thanks for the picture info. I'll have to try it when I post next.
OOH! Love the new look! :)
Looks like Utah was great (even though the snow put a damper on things). Your sister looks beautiful and happy! :)
Great to see the entire family and the life-size, cardboard cut-out of Kim together! Looking good!
kSince you commented on my blog twice, I decided I should probably comment on yours because otherwise you would just look like a stalker. You can thank me later...hmmm...yeah that's pretty much it...try not to exhibit such weird behavior all the time...I'm really just trying to help you.
I can't believe Wendy is married and Kim is on the mission. I'm getting old! Beautiful wedding! I'm excited to keep up with you guys on your blog. Your boys are adorable! Too cute!
WOW! Wendy is so pretty! She looks just like Ann Hathaway! So crazy she is married now. I last remember her as a Beehive in Chehalis Ward.
What a nice looking family photo. I love the cut out of Kim! That's awesome.
