Kate is my newest, little niece. And she’s an angel straight from heaven. She was born with a lot of complications, all somehow related to a genetic disorder that is yet to be labeled. She’s had her fair share of suffering already. And my sister and her amazing family have remained strong and faithful and good . . . even amidst all of the questions. You can feel Kate’s spirit when you walk into the room. She’s special. And my sister, Wendy, is special . . . and they’ve got themselves the perfect situation because of that. Can’t wait to snuggle that little bug again. We love you, Kate and were excited to get to meet you!

Any time we showed Avery Kate’s photo before they met, Avery would get all excited and start yelling and talking. She even said, “Kate,” once, I swear it. I think she’s been waiting for her little cousin to get here.
She only tried to steal her blanket and send her flying one time . . . and the crisis was averted.
