I've never seen Tanner so upset. I asked him if he was hurt. "Yes!" he said, "My boot is hurt!" His little lip was quivering. He was truly heartbroken and scared. I have NEVER, and I repeat NEVER, seen my boy so sad. Nothing phases him. Nothing hurts him. I don't think I've ever seen him cry that way (he generally only "cries" until Hunter is in trouble). He felt the heat, but his pain tolerance is so high that he never says anything. He wouldn't even touch the burnt part of the boot because "It's so hot!" I love my little guy and I can honesly say that I now love those boots. We could've had one horrible disaster on our hands. We bought him a new pair last night.

"My boot is hurt!"
On Tuesday the boys went with Kyle on the three wheeler to shut off the cannon at the hatchery (it scares the birds.....supposedly). Anyway, when they got home, Tanner somehow tucked his foot up next to the muffler. Luckily they were getting off and Kyle smelled the burning rubber. These boots (which I was just making fun of in my last post) saved my baby's foot. Kyle got the boot off and once it was cool, we examined it. Another millimeter and it would have melted through. Do you see what happened to this boot in seconds? Ignore the powdered donut mess on my table.....it wasn't mine, I swear.

Oh Bri that is so scary. Poor little boy. And all he worried about was his hurt boot. Give him a hug for me.
Thank goodness for rubber boots and guardian angels!!
And don't feel bad, my boys and Bekah's boys all have very similar boots that they wear everywhere!
Holy cow...I would of been freaking out of course ('cause I'm good at that). What a crazy kid! Glad he is okay! Miss you.
I would've loved to see that quivering lip, so sad and cute all at the same time.
I am glad he is unhurt.
I did that once on a motorcycle. I was riding threesome with those darn Salisbury girls. My inner thigh touched the muffler for only a second or two but I got a three-degree burn from it. Lovely!
Thankfully he had his boot!
