Our little girl is here!! After 37 1/2 LONG weeks, she's finally here! I have a kidney stone to thank for my early induction.....not so sure how happy I should be about THAT, but I DID get my epidural on time and my water didn't break at home (which would've allowed Kyle to deliver me at the side of the road with his hatchery tools), so all is well. I spent 6 out of the last 7 days in the hospital (not in labor). I went in last Friday, thinking I was in labor, but they sent me home saying they thought I had a kidney stone (much to my dismay). By Saturday night, I was in again with the flu and got to stay until Sunday afternoon. Monday I was home (in labor, even though the nurses wouldn't believe me) and by Tuesday morning, they got to see me at Kadlec AGAIN. I was most positive that they'd agree I was in labor THIS TIME, but alas, they didn't. Turns out my "back labor" was my kidney stone. I was having contractions too, but not enough they said. Well, Dr. Ortolano saved the day by coming in to say he'd induce me or we could worry about the kidney stone first and then he'd induce me. I almost jumped off the bed (and if I wasn't writhing in pain, I would have). He said that nobody should have to deal with labor and a kidney stone, so he was trying to make me feel better. It worked. Anyway, we decided to deliver, hoping the kidney stone would pass during delivery (while I had my lovely epidural).

Anyhow, even though Kyle didn't deliver me on Road 68 with his hatchery tools, he did deliver me. I'm not even exaggerating!! Kyle asked if he could catch the baby and the nurse suggested letting him help. Dr. Ortolano said he could just deliver! At first, I was thinking, you've got to be kidding.....take all his knives!! But it was really cool. They got Kyle all dressed (while hoping Haylee didn't fall out because she was right there already). He sat in the Dr.'s chair and my doctor stood over his shoulder and told him what to do. I think the Doctor only did like two things the whole time. He just told Kyle how to do it. Unbelievable!! Kyle even had to rotate Haylee's head because she was trying to come out crooked. Anyway, Kyle was so excited that he got to do that and Dr. Ortolano said he did such a good job that he should come with him to room 4 because he had to deliver there next. Anyway, it was pretty neat and I didn't even die, so......yay!!

So, Haylee BriAnne Huwe was born on Tuesday, February 17th, 2009 at 9:46pm. She was 7 lbs. 14 oz. and 18 1/2 inches long. SHE'S BEAUTIFUL!! (And pretty much the spitting image of Hunter.....if you mixed up their hospital pictures on the day of their birth, I wouldn't be able to tell who was who). She has a full head of light brown hair, which already goes over her ears. She's a shorty, so the fact that she was pretty heavy for being 2 1/2 weeks early, means she has chubby little cheeks and creases in her thighs. I love it!! Anyway, turns out she has a bit of a temper......or maybe calling her opinionated would be better. My Mother thinks I deserve this.....and I probably do......but she could at least cooperate occasionally. She loves to stay up all night.....which generally so do I......but it's not working out so well right now. She always wants to be held or have someone touching her or she complains. I don't mind the cuddling, so that's okay with me. Anyway, we're so delighted she's finally here. All went well and she's healthy. (Still not sure if the kidney stone is gone......I don't think so, so this could get ugly, but we'll just wait and see). Anyway, we love our little girl and are so happy she joined our family.
Side note: The boys are so cute with Haylee. Hunter couldn't be more in love. He wants to hold her ALL of the time. No one else is really allowed. Earlier, he finally consented to let Katie hold her (he'd had her for 1/2 hour). Before she even sat down, it was "his turn again." Tanner just likes to kiss and poke her. At least he names all of the parts he's poking, so it's kind of educational. Oh, and every time he sees her, he yells out, "Hold it!" Apparently the concept of male/female is lost on Tanner. Anyway, they're adorable. Tanner may smash her, but Hunter will save her.......and Mommy will be crazy.:) We love our little girl!

She is absolutely adorable...and you're right...just like Hunter. Well, since we look alike, I hope that my kids are as cute as yours. Anyways, we are so happy for you guys and we can't wait to see all of you.
Congratulations! She is beautiful!
Congratulations! I'm happy that you're home and doing well. And I'm glad Kyle didn't drop her during delivery!
Yay! Congrats!
Oh Bri! I want to come down there right now and see her! She's beautiful! I can tell from the pictures that the boys are so excited to be big brothers! (Hopefully that lasts, hey?!) Congrats!!! I can't wait to meet her!! Maybe by the time I make it down there, the novelty will have worn off a bit and Hunter will let me have a turn??
Congratulations!!! I am so excited for you all. Sounds like the boys are very ready to be big brothers. That is actually really awesome that Kyle got to deliver!!! Wow.
Sure hope you can get some sleep Bri!
Congrats! I was just thinking the other day you hadn't updated your blog for awhile but now I realize a kidney stone, the flu, AND deliverying your sweet baby could leave NO time whatsoever for blogging.:-) Haylee is super duper cute! You are going to LOVE having a girl!
Yay! Haylee is so beautiful! Congrats...and good job Kyle on the delivery!!
She is so beautiful! Congratulations Huwe Family! I always love pictures with the older siblings and the baby! The boys look so happy! :)
Oh Bri Haylee is so beautiful. I can hardly wait until May to see her. Did you ever think that the Dr. was preparing Kyle in case he has to deliver the next one at home or on the road? gOOD JOB KYLE. Love you all bunches. Can't wait to see you all and I too hope Hunter is willing to share Haylee by then as he will have lots of relatives wanting a turn.
Congratulations! Even cooler that Kyle was able to deliver her AND WITHOUT all his crazy knives and hatchery tools (we all know he'd do it!)! Now, the question is, where is the pink camo?!?
Way to go Mom....and Dad, you are a brave one to let KYLE deliver you! Just teasin Kyle, what a neat experience! Sounds like there is a new BOSS in your house, I am sure she will run those big brothers ALL around! I hope you can get feeling better soon, go take a nap!
Bri, you're my hero! No joke! I just love you and she is so stinkin' adorable. I'm pretty sure she and Evan are going to be best friends...don't let her kill him, okay? He's kind of sensitive.;o) JK! Love ya and am praying I get to see ya in May! Take care of yourself...sleep as much as you can and remember the poopy diapers don't stay gross THAT long...lol...love ya sis...
Haylee is so beautiful! Those cheeks are scrumptious! Way to go! You are once again my hero for making it through all of the craziness of another pregnancy! I am so excited for you and your family!!
you are crazy for letting him deliver the baby, i am so glad everything went so well
CONGRATS!! WELCOME HAYLEE!! I noticed she look alike hunter but hair and back look like tanner :) Glad Things went well with you and Haylee! Good job Kyle!! Cannot wait to meet her Hugs!!
I was relooking at the pictures on this blog and I eally liked the one of Hunter and Tanner holding Haylee. Tanner had such a smug look on his face as if to say see our baby. And the picture of Hunter holding Haylee on the couch where he is leaning back and she is sleeping is the spitting image of Matt when he was littl.
CONGRATULATIONS!! She is beautiful. Sounds like you can have a home birth next time with you well trained hubby. Hope the stone passes painlessly.
Congrats!! She is beautiful. Hope she starts cooperating soon and you get rid of that kidney stone:) Have fun with your new little bundle.
Wow, your little family sure is growing. The pictures were so fun to look at-your little boys and their little sister. My niece and nephew were pretty posessive of their new little brother and weren't too sure they liked me holding him when my niece finally let me have it-"Aunt Charity, can't you just get your own baby. You are always holding Malek." Congrats on your little one :)
Congratulations!! She's such a cutie =] I can't wait to meet her & hold her... that is if Hunter will let me hold her =] Your kids are sooo beautiful & I miss them!!
Kennady liked being held a lot when she was a baby, but now she is very independent.
I'm glad that you are doing better & you can put the drama of pregnancy behind you =] Love you guys!!
Congrats on the cutie!
Bri...you're the woman! Now when you hear someone compare labor to kidney stones...well, you'll be the expert!
Kyle what a great experience for you...little girls are just a bit different from little boys aren't they. I'll bet you are already loading the shotguns!
Lacie J.
I can't believe your baby is here already. It makes me scared that mine is coming so soon. She is adorable!I'm so sorry about the kidney stones. My husband had one about a month ago and it looked horrible.
Bri-Cute picts! I have to say I love the name. Congrats!
Probably don't even care about my comment cos you have 50 billion, but I just have to comment. She is too too cute! How is it possible that you can have three adorable children? Aren't there odds against it or something? I hope your luckiness rubs off on other people too. And I have to question... all this talk about everyone seeing her in May.... Is Haylee going to try and steal my thunder? That could just hurt our fragile new relationship. But I'll probably be able to forgive her... hopefully. The boys are looking so cute still. And you are looking cute. I just looked at the pic of you holding her and I thought, how can someone who's just been through labor look so cute? (You probably just picked out your best pics, which was a good trick by the way.) Anyway, I just love you all and am way excited for you.
By the way, congratulations you knuckleheads. It's about time! (Especially since you practically tried to ruin my birthday.)
She's absolutely adorable and I LOVE the pics of her and Hunter. And good job to Kyle for his work as "catcher." You really should've pushed for a discount since Kyle had to do the doctor's job for him, though.
Congratulations! She's a cutie.
YAY! Congrats Bri!!! I'm so excited for you guys. I wish I lived closer so I could help you out. I'll keep you & SLEEP in my prayers.
