This guy is a party animal. Seriously. He talks about his Birthday for AT LEAST three months prior. Then, the day of, you’re convinced that he’s going to hyperventilate . . . or have his head explode . . . from all of the excitement. Tanner’s intensity is one of the things I love about him though, so I can honestly say that I appreciate the joy (and even dismay) he feels about life. I’ve never seen someone open presents so quickly. He’d tear into a package and then exclaim, “Oh my!” or “Would you look at that!?” He’d promptly toss it behind him over his head and move onto the next. We were literally finished opening presents in less than 2 minutes. Impressive. Oh, and if you couldn’t tell, he’s a little bit obsessed with Cars 2 at the moment. I’d claim that it’ll pass quickly, but he was obsessed with Cars until he became aware of the existence of Cars 2. Maybe it’ll pass by the time he’s 8 . . . or 12.:)
Oh, and he’s obsessed with MacGyver too. If you know Kyle, you’ll realize that this particular obsession will NEVER pass.
I was informed that this was the coolest cake ever made. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that in my “just had a new baby” state of exhaustion that it was also the simplest cake I’d likely ever made. Even Hunter conceded that no one in the house had ever had a cake as cool as that. Makes me wonder why I ever waste any time with elaborate decorating.:)
Happy Birthday, Tanner! We love you! And love having a cool 5 year old in the house (which I’ve also been informed means that he runs faster than anyone who’s still only 4).
