This is exact post is on my photography blog, but I need it in my family record too, so…..just don’t read it twice.:) We had every intention of getting a family photo shoot done this fall, but never managed to get to it. I have a photographer friend on the west side and we were going to do a little family shoot swapping, but we haven’t gotten over there…and now it’s winter…and my transmission all but blew up. Anyway, we desperately need a new family photo, so Kyle suggested we try the self-timer. As a photographer, I’ll admit that I scoffed at his idea. I’ve chased little children around, I’ve struggled with getting everyone to look at the camera…..it was a RIDICULOUS idea…..until it wasn’t. The kids were being relatively cooperative and thought that smiling at the pretty, blinking light was a great idea. Kyle tricked our dog into looking by laying her favorite stick against the tripod. It was the perfect time in our yard for the outfits we chose. It was beautifully executed.:) Until a proper session can be done, it’s going on my wall.

Wow! That's impressive! I bet you couldn't have done better if you tried (with a different photographer). It really is a great picture! Makes me want to go try it for us (for Christmas cards). You know, some of our best Christmas pics have been done with the timer. Then again, I haven't tried with three... It is a really great shot.

Thanks for such a great picture. It's ready to go back up on my wall but I can't do it. I have to have someone else put them up. I had a hard time getting them down. Darn legs.
