Little Snowbunnies

Yesterday we took a drive up to the Blue Mountains. It was Kyle's Birthday and he loves to go there. We couldn't even take the kids to church yesterday because they were all snot-nosed and coughing. I stayed home with them. After Kyle came home we decided to go to the mountains anyway because there was no one to get sick up there. The kids even got to play in the snow, which THRILLED them to no end. (When we got all of that snow at our house, I didn't have gloves for the boys and so they couldn't play in it.....I know, terrible Mom!) Anyway, we all had a good time playing in the snow. I regretted it a little bit afterward because the cold made Hunter's cough really painful for him that night, but all is well today.....and he doesn't regret it, so.....:). Kyle also got to drive around looking for hunting land and animals (which he could do every day if I'd let him). We saw a big bull elk and tons of deer. Fun, fun, fun.
Our darling children.
Haylee wasn't sure what to think at first. Then she got excited about it. Then she got cold. So it is with babies, I guess. I had her in her fleece suit and then threw snow pants on top of it, so she could sit in the snow. They were a little long and covered her feet, which I guess is good since we don't have boots for her.
Hunter had the most fun of anybody. He kept sledding down this huge hill on his little bum. I honestly didn't think he'd do it because he's my cautious child, but he was all over the place! He also learned how to appropriately have a snowball fight with Daddy. I only saw part of the fight, but I'm positive Hunter won.....which is what he'd tell you too.:)
Tanner's so happy that we rarely see his eyes any more.:) Very dramatically cute. And he LOVED the snow. Daddy let them each wear one of his headlamps (by the time we found snow it was dark......a ton of melting going on up there) and they loved that too. So, they could see at least. Tanner was actually really scared of snowballs and hills, so he just played in one spot. That was quite the flip-flop for my two boys. Interesting.....
We had a great time! And Kyle got to go to the mountains which was a good Birthday treat for him. By the way, we're both 30 now, so I can no longer be mocked. October to January is very long for me.:)

I can't believe Tanner didn't sled - that's so unlike him! Sounds like you guys had tons of fun.

Oh, your blog doesn't update itself in my blog roller, so I didn't even know you updated until Joey was looking for pictures on your blog.

What a party!! We are planning a snow trip one of these days very soon. I love that we live close enough to drive to it but don't have to deal with it everyday. Perfect!
